Cookin' On Camano | Is Lobster Your Favorite Food? Where Do You Buy It?

Cookin' On Comano | Lobster, Lobster, Lobster !!! It is simply my favorite food!

Why does it have to be sooooo expensive and hard to find?

I first tried lobster when I was stationed at the Barbers Point Naval Air Station, Honolulu, HI. I bought a book of BOGO Coupons (Buy One - Get One Free) for all the fine restaurants in Waikiki. Each time we went out, we order lobster, it was half price and the nice part was, most of the restaurants thought we were tourists and let us keep the coupon to use again.

On the base we had annual company picnics, on the base park, we would swim out catch the lobster and then one of the civilians that worked with us would cook them up for us, wow that was good, and free, all you could eat, fresh out of the sea.

Another favorite experience with lobster was at The Wolf Lodge in Coeur d' Alene, ID. A whopping 24oz serving of lobster tail for $30 bucks. I hurt myself at this place. The first time I ate there was in 1984. I just recently returned to the same restaurant in 2011. It still looks and feels the same as it did the first time, dirt parking lot and wood floors, every detail, amazing. If you are ever in the Pacific Northwest and you love lobster, I highly recommend the Wolf Lodge.

Jackie and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the La Conner, WA. at the La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House. My cousin used to own this restaurant and pulled some strings for me to order off the menu. We were there for about 4 hours and the bill was over $250 for just two people, but please trust, it was worth every penny!

But I am getting off the track. What I am looking for is recommendations on how and where to find the best lobster at a fair price. Costco Wholesale sells ten pound cases of frozen lobster for around $18 or $19 per pound, which is not too bad.

At Maine Lobster Direct, a site from New England that ships lobster all over the world has a contest, I have promoted the contest for years, but have never won. I guess if I entered more often I may have a better chance. Click on the banner above and try your luck.

Here is an online supplier, Simply Lobster that looks pretty good.
Fresh seafood, lobster meat, lobster tails, clams and more from the pristine waters of Maine
Maine lobsters and seafood delivery to your door within 24 hours. Express delivery guaranteed!

Here is another online supplier, Allen Brothers offers great steaks and seafood of all kinds. They say cold water lobster tastes sweeter than the warm water equivalent. It also has an incredibly smooth, velvety texture, which means it literally melts in your mouth. These treasured meaty tails are plucked from crystal waters, frozen on deck for peak freshness, then shipped directly to you. Savor their rich, delicate flavor — steamed, broiled, baked, or grilled.

LOBSTER FACT: It's hard to believe that lobster was once considered poor man's food and was even used as fish bait, but this is indeed the case. Today, it is a bit more costly but still widely available in many forms. With such a rich flavor, it is easy to stretch lobster in saucesspreads, and casseroles to ease the cost burden. Click on lobster fact to learn more about lobster.

The bottom line is, I would like to know where is the best place to purchase lobster. I prefer the tails, but I will take whatever I can get. Anyone got any suggestions of what kind to buy, when to buy, where to buy, and if you have a great lobster recipe, I would love to hear it.

The Growth of The Relationship Marketing Industry

From The Desk of D. Mike Caudill & The elloTEAM of Professionals:

The Growth of The Relationship Marketing Industry

Relationship sales and marketing using the Internet has become one of the fastest and most effective ways to develop new customers, whether a business thrives on multiple sales or just one sale per day. But nearly every company I review is missing the mark and needs to make changes if this new method is going to bear financial fruit for their enterprise.

In fact, the relationship or social media marketing industry is growing at such a rapid pace that over 80% of the companies attempting to develop this type of advertising plan are not keeping up and, for the most part, are wasting valuable time and money in the process.

For example, new social-type marketing sites are popping up every day but very few sales managers venture past social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Merchant Circle and LinkedIn. While these are all part of an exceptional foundation for an online campaign, today, there are over three dozen more complimentary (FREE) marketing sites which, if incorporated, will multiply the positive effects of a solid online sales experience.

Look at it this way; If your company is on a dead end street, there is only one road to your door for new customers to find you. However, if you business is located at a busy five-way intersection ten times as many potential consumers will pass your establishment. The same is true with the Internet; 30+ websites with your business content is much better than 3 to 5 sites which is the typical situation for the majority of for-profit enterprises today.

Furthermore, many managers do not have an aggressive plan in place to monitor and manage the potential new business leads that could be developed from a multifaceted  online campaign. Creating new business from the Web requires a proactive approach to harvest leads, develop prospects, and capture new business for any company.

Let me explain: Relationship marketing requires multiple contacts to cause the consumer to act. According to the latest from Google, less than 10% of the online content produced is read by human eyes. A four stage CONSUMER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is essential to deliver enough marketing materials to accomplish this task.

In other words, creating a successful marketing plan on the Worldwide Web requires more than posting  content and spending money. It must include a multiple campaign approach, using directory, social, networking, review, blogging, and affiliate sites focusing on a specific target market, coupled with a solid proactive four step plan, using social, email, phone, and in-person connections and follow ups to maintain constant communications with potential consumers.

Sounds time consuming and expensive? It is neither time consuming nor expensive if done right. In fact, it is possible to create an effective new business development plan without spending a dime with very little time consumed each month. Your elloAgency Consultant can show you how.
